Usage Areas
Water, soft drinks, food and beverage containers, synthetic fiber, oil, detergent, film, fiber.
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET, PETE, PETP) is a thermoplastic material from polyester family. There are applications such as soft drinks, food and beverage containers, synthetic fiber. Depending on the heat treatment, it is available in amorphous (transparent) and semi-crystalline (opaque and white) materials
The most important usage advantage is to be fully recyclable. Unlike other plastics, the polymer chains are in their old state in later use. The PET raw material identification code is expressed as 1.
It can be semi-rigid (semi-rigid) and rigid (rigid) depending on PET thickness. It's very light. It is used as a good gas and moisture barrier. It is rigid and resistant to impact. It is naturally colorless and transparent
PET is often coated with aluminum when it is produced as a thin film; it becomes reflective and opaque. PET bottles are excellent barrier material and have a very wide usage area especially for beverages.
When filled with fiber or glass particles, it becomes noticeably harder and longer lasting.
